IP blocked
Filed Under Uncategorized | 5 Comments
Just when i had finally got my blog in order and was keen to post, my isp gets the ip address of this site blocked for some unknown reason. This is something similar to wha the Govt. of India did to blogspot a few weeks back. WHY ? no answer. WHEN(will it get sorted)? No reply. Damn.
Nonetheless, the entire situation has led me to discover proxy surfing. This is useful in accessing a website when the server is up but your isp or office environment doesnt permit you to access a particular site or even in a circumstance when you simply do not want the site you are accessing to know your ip address.
Sites like proxydom.com, shysurfer.com and several others can help you out access a website through proxy surfing. So as such there is no website that a government or isp can stop you from accessing. However, this works mostly for simply reading webpages, signing-in is not easily possible. If you are aware of a proxy-surfing site which helps you login please comment.
Ebuddy is another tool which lets you sign-in to popular chat networks msn, yahoo and aim without actually having the client software. This comes in handy in office environments or libraries where chat software are blocked.
