Delete

What exactly is the concept of deleting? We delete all the time, even when we hit backspace we are deleting. We are deleting something all the time. Delete is the exact opposite of backups. You can either be a delete-person or a backup-person. If you don’t know, or if you don’t care, soon, very soon, you will be the person who will regret not having a backup.

I am a backup person. Multiple backups. The more the number of backups a person has, the more paranoid the person is. At the same time the frequency at which you delete data is also determining your paranoia. What about the thoughts in your head? Can you every shift-delete them? ever?

Is there a way to delete remorse, regret and fear? The reason we delete is to save space and not really to get rid of something, unless of course you dont want to be discovered. However, you can’t do that with fear. At the same time you cant have a backup of pleasant memories. You may have the photos, but the joy is never backed up, it just turns into stale nostalgia.

I hate deleting data. I cant delete a movie after I am done watching it. Of course I clear out the OS-related junk every now and then, but any art form, i am compelled to backup.
