I am addicted to Foosball. One new thing I learnt at Google that has taken over my life is Foosball.

I co-organized the tournament that started today and was thrilled to see the excitement and the fun that everyone had. It brought together so many of us from different teams. It was a cultural event in itself, apart from being a sporting event. Some quick facts:
1. 24 teams of 2 are partcipating.
2. Representation from all the different teams in the office over here.
3. An opportunity for old rivals and new friends to get together and hang out.

Perhaps the best match and the biggest upset was when a team called ‘V d ppl’ formed by super-enthu Nooglers was playing. This team had amazing support and were cheered all along by their batch-mates. No team in Foosball at Google has ever enjoyed such support.

It will be the last tournament for a couple of friends who had politely urged me to continue to learn and play when I was a Noogler and new on the Foosball circuit about 15-18 months back.

Everyone who played some Foosball in the office, was there, playing or cheering and it was great to see, feel and be a part of the atmosphere.

I must confess I broke the heart of one Noogler kid who was wanted to participate, had not signed up for the tourney, but showed up and was counting on me to put him in a match. He waited till the end :( I hope he forgives me and doesn’t lose heart. Dude, if you are reading this, I urge you to not quit playing foosball.
